PIBBA Officers Present at 43rd NABE Conference

Congratulations to the PIBBA Officers who presented at the 43rd Annual National Association for Bilingual Education (NABE) Conference held in San Diego, California February 12-15, 2014! The theme was Sailing into the 21st Century:  Multiple Languages, Multiple Paths, Lifelong Advantages.  Dr. Jose Cruz, PIBBA Guam Chapter Historian, and Dr. Matilda Naputi Rivera, PIBBA Webmaster, had the honor of presenting culturally-relevant papers at the conference.  Rosa Salas Palomo, PIBBA International Treasurer, served as the Chair during our Asian Pacific Islanders Special Interest Group session.  In particular, Dr. Cruz's presentation was titled Student Achievement: Bi-literate Magic in Core Subjects for Lifelong Advantages.  Dr. Rivera's presentations were titled  Sailing to an Innovative Way of Reaching Out to Pacific Islanders and Alii World: Palau Language Commission Has Arrived at the Digitalized World of the Internet.

Breaking News: Luta (Rota) to host 33rd PIBBA Conference


CNMI Senator Jovie Taimanao and PIBBA International Historian Frances Sablan have reported that Rota will be hosting the 33rd Annual International PIBBA Conference this year. Congratulations CNMI!

Congratulations, PIBBA Guam Officers!

Congratulations to the newly-elected PIBBA Guam Officers who are committed to serve in the organization for the next two years!  They were officially sworn in by Past President PIBBA Ewy Taitano on February 1, 2014 at Wendy's in Barrigada, Guam. Afterwards, they enjoyed delicious Asiago, chili, and raspberry tea!
