Condolences for the Franquez Family

 Daniel “Dan” Peter Franquez


The PIBBA Family extends its deepest condolences and sympathies to the family of Daniel “Dan” Peter Franquez, brother of PIBBA Guam Historian Joey Franquez.  Dan left this Earth on November 27, 2021 at the age of 67.  

Mass of Intention is offered at Santa Teresita Catholic Church in Mangilao from Dec. 1 to 7 as follows: 6 p.m. weekdays, except Thursday; 6:30 p.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m. Sunday. Last respects will be from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Dec. 20 at Guam Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leyang, Barrigada. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at noon Dec. 22 at Santa Teresita Church, followed by interment at Guam Veterans Cemetery in Piti.

Dan will always be remembered. God Bless him and his family.  May he rest in peace.

A Collection of Pandemic Poetry - Johanna's New Normal Debut Oct. 27 & 28

Join Johanna Salinas in a 'grab and go' launch of her debut zine, "Johanna's New Normal" at Nieves M. Flores Memorial Library in Hagatna on October 27 and 28 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Books will be sold for $10 at the launch (cash and PayPal only)

This project is supported in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Guam Council on the Arts and Humanities Agency, Government of Guam, and the Office of the Governor.

Condolences for the Dela Cruz Family

Henry Dean Tydingco Dela Cruz
1967-2021

The PIBBA Family extends its deepest condolences and sympathies to the family of Henry "Dean" Tydingco Dela Cruz, husband of PIBBA Guam member Vera Dela Cruz.

Dela Cruz, who is formerly of Sinajana and resided in Mangilao, passed away Oct. 3 at the age of 54.  Last respects will take place on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 during the 9-11:30 a.m. Viewing at Ada’s Mortuary, Sinajana.  Mass of Christian burial will be held noon at San Juan Bautista Catholic Church, Ordot.  The burial will follow immediately after Mass at Tiguag Cemetery, Nimitz Hill.


Daily Masses are held at San Juan Bautista Catholic Church:  6 p.m. Monday-Friday, 5pm Saturday, and 6:30 p.m. Sunday.  Daily rosaries are prayed twice daily: Noon & 7:30 p.m. via Zoom.

Condolences for the Salas and Palomo Families

The PIBBA Family extends its deepest condolences and sympathies to the families of Yvonne "Princess" Gogue Salas, sister-in-law of PIBBA Guam President Rosa Salas Palomo and PIBBA Guam member Barbara Marie Salas Benavente.  


Princess passed away in Tacoma, WA.  May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace. Taiguennao mohon.  She will always be remembered. God Bless Princess and her family.

Condolences for the Salas and Palomo Families

The PIBBA Family extends its deepest condolences and sympathies to the families of Joseph "Yogi" Garcia Salas, brother of PIBBA Guam President Rosa Salas Palomo and PIBBA Guam member Barbara Marie Salas Benavente.  Yogi left this Earth on July 12, 2021.  He was 74 years old.

Mass of Intention will be held through August 6, 2021 at San Vicente/San Roke Catholic Church, Barrigada, weekdays: 6:00 p.m., Saturday:  7:15 a.m./5:30 p.m., Sunday:  6:00 a.m./10:00 a.m.


Last respects can be paid on Saturday, August 7, 2021, viewing:  10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Peace Memorial Chapel, Barrigada.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. at San Vicente/San Roke Catholic Church, Barrigada.  Private Internment will follow at Our Lady of Peace Memorial Gardens, Cross Island Road, Yona.  


Yogi will always be remembered. God Bless him and his family.  May he rest in peace.

PIBBA Guam Donation to VARO - May 26

The Pacific Islands Bilingual-Bilcultural Association (PIBBA), Guam Chapter donated $500 worth of educational games and materials and books to VARO for distribution to the children at the Global Dorm Hotel homeless facility on May 26, 2021.

GIFLC Book Donation to PIBBA Guam & VARO

The Guahan Isan Famagu'on Lions Club donated children's books to the Pacific Islands Bilingual Bicultural Association (PIBBA) Guam Chapter on May 24, 2021, and the books will be further donated to VARO.  VARO is the donation organizer on behalf of Global Dorm.  Everything goes to Global Dorm's children.

First 2021 PIBBA Guam Meeting Meaningful
